Conversion Not Their Agenda
On Tuesday, the IRF issued
one more statements reacting to the MHA notice and the police commissioner’s
report and said that “conversion is not IRF’s objective”.IRF wants to reiterate
that the allegations are false and baseless. Dr Zakir Naik firmly believes in
promoting peace and harmony and has been doing that for decades. IRF is a
research body that promotes greater awareness of Islam and its tenets. Dr Zakir
Naik is an expert in comparative religion and has been conducting
well-researched talks on Islam and other religions across the world. The statement
added that Naik’s teachings of Islam is not unconstitutional since “propagating
one’s religion is allowed by article 25 of the Indian Constitution.”Conversion
is not one of the objectives of IRF. The organisation only spreads the message
of Islam and clears misconceptions. This is fully permitted by our
Constitution.Referring to the complaint against a member of the IRF, Arshi

‘entanglement’ in S.China Sea: Chinese media
Beijing:India should avoid
“unnecessary entanglement” in the South China Sea dispute during Chinese
Foreign Minister Wang Yi’s visit to New Delhi to prevent it becoming yet
“another factor” to impact bilateral ties, a state-run Chinese daily said on
Tuesday.“India may want to avoid unnecessary entanglement with China over the
South China Sea debate during Wang’s visit if the country wishes to create a
good atmosphere for economic cooperation, which would include reducing tariffs
on made-in-India products exported to China amid the ongoing free trade talk
known as the Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership,” an article in the
state-run Global Times said.“India is expected to allow only moderate tariff
reduction on made-in-China products under the talks in a bid to preserve its
domestic industries. If India wants China to be more generous in terms of
tariff reduction, it would be unwise for the country to let its relationship
with China deteriorate further at this moment,” it said.HT

Muslim families threaten
migration from Agra
Agra: In contrast to BJP
claims about Hindus migrating from several areas of UP, including Agra, due to
pressures from members of minority community, a group of Muslim residents from
Itimad-Ud-Daulah area on Monday put up posters of "house for sale"
outside their residences, accusing SP backed land grabbers of pressuring them
to sell their properties. Accusing the administration and the police of doing
nothing to prevent the land grabbers from harassing them, the residents claimed
that several people had already moved out of Itimad-Ud-Daulah and many more
would follow. The residents, who carried posters demanding action against local
cops, alleged that a group of land grabbers, patronised by ruling SP leaders,
had been pressuring them to sell their properties and harassing them
continuously for the same."When we refuse to sell, they adopt all sorts of
terrorising tactics, including threatening to take our lives," they
alleged. A resident said that the land grabbers were also trying to forcibly
take possession of an empty piece of land, which for decades was being used by
them, adding the miscreants were backed by a relative of a powerful UP
minister. Dubbing Akhilesh Yadav as "anti-minorities", residents said

Modi's statement on cow
vigilantes came too late for Akhlaq" UP minister
Agra:UP Minister of State
Haji Israr Saifi has said that although PM Narendra Modi has now differentiated between real
'Gau-sevaks' and the fake ones, this revelation has come too late for Akhlaq
and other Muslims killed in the name of 'Gau-Raksha'. Saifi
said that the Hindu outfits in the country have been spreading communal terror
since the day Modi govt formed, especially in the name of 'Gau-raksha', when
most of the cows are dying from consuming polythene. He said that Hindu outfits
should tell everyone what animal's skin is their shoes made of. He said that indu
organizations raise the voice about protection of cows and wear shoes made of
cow and buffalo skins. If they are really so bent on protecting cows, they
should first stop wearing leather shoes. He said that the atrocities being
meted out to Dalits are all a conspiracy of the RSS and BJP.On this occasion,
local SP leader Haji Imran Khan said that that 80% of the 'Gau-Rakshaks' are
fake and spreading communalism in the guise of protecting cows. Such people are
engaged in all sorts of illegal activities and getting protection from
prosecution by hiding behind the banners of Hindu outfits. He said that real
'Gau-Rakshaks' should pledge not to use polythene and also prevent the use of
polyethene by others. india today
At receiving end of cow
vigilantism, RSS-affiliated Muslim body suspends gaushala plans
Underlining the threat of
cow vigilantism, RSS-affiliated Muslim Rashtriya Manch has been forced to put its plans for starting
gaushalas (cow shelters) across India in cold storage. The reason: Its
activists ferrying two cows from Haryana to Delhi were way-laid by these
"gaurakshaks" but were saved because of police presence. Outfit says
it is unable to transport cows to its proposed shelters in other states,
including Maharashtra, because of the possibility of being waylaid by
vigilantes. A dmitting there was a "dar ka mahoul" among Muslims
about being framed for cow slaughter, MRM leaders decried overzealous cow
protectors who took the law into their hands and pointed that this affects

‘Fake’ cow vigilantes
extort money in MP
Bhopal/Indore:Police and
some Muslim cattle traders have said that certain people posing as cow
vigilantes in Madhya Pradesh are indulging in extortion, especially from the
minority community, an allegation dismissed by those affiliated to Hindu
outfits, who distanced themselves from those indulging in violence and
extortion. MP has the highest cattle population in the country with over 1.96
crore cows, and almost every village along highways leading to neighbouring
states have troops of about 25-30 youths as gau-rakshaks (cow vigilantes). Over
the years, the number of incidents in which people were attacked, thrashed or
harassed by the so-called gau-rakshaks has increased, but the cases have fallen
flat as the meat which was seized was found to be that of buffaloes not cows. Many
senior police officials of state posted in districts bordering Maharashtra,
Gujarat, Rajasthan, UP and Chhattisgarh confirmed that many anti-socials, in
the garb of cow vigilante groups, were attacking those carrying milch animals
in bulk.“All they do is wear saffron scarves and patrol in groups, searching
for targets. They travel in SUVs or even motorcycles at night. Once they find a
target, they beat them up badly for money,” a senior police officer posted in a
district bordering Maharashtra confided.“This has developed as a business in
the last few years. Many of them have turned ‘crorepatis’. Some lower level
policemen are also involved in this activity and get a share from these
gau-rakshaks,” said another senior police officer, requesting anonymity. Masood
Ahmed Khan, secretary, coordination committee for Indian Muslims, MP unit, said
Muslim meat traders were being harassed by the so-called gau-rakshaks. “Most of
the people who are stopped on highways are from Muslim community.Aim is to
extort money,” said a Muslim leader of Nimar, requesting anonymity.“There are
some people who earn 50,000-60,000 per month just by intercepting these
trucks,” he said.HT
