1st RSS ‘Army’ school from next April;
Ist batch to have 160 students
New Delhi:RSS is set to open an ‘Army’ school
next year that will train children to become officers in the armed forces. The
school, which will be run by RSS’ education wing Vidya Bharti, will be its
first such initiative and will be named after ex RSS sarsangchalak Rajendra
Singh, alias Rajju Bhaiya.Rajju Bhaiya Sainik Vidya Mandir will come up in
Shikarpur in UP’s Bulandshahar district, where ex RSS chief was born in 1922. Construction
of the residential school for boys is now on and it will follow the Central
Board of Secondary Education syllabus. It will have students from Class VI to
Class XII and classes will begin from April.“This is an experiment we are doing
for the first time in the country and the model can be replicated to other
places in future,” says Ajay Goyal, regional convener of West UP and
Uttarakhand for Vidya Bharti Uchha Shiksha Sansthan. Vidya Bharti runs over
20,000 schools across the country. The prospectus for the first batch of
students is almost ready and we will invite applications from next
month,”Goyal, who is working on the education side of the project, told ET. “We
will take 160 students for Class VI for the first batch.” Children of martyrs
will get 56 seats under a reservation scheme. Retired Army officers are
expected to meet and offer suggestions for improvements in Sept.“A number of
Army officers across the country are in touch with RSS or affiliate outfits.
The date of the meeting will be finalised within a week,” Goyal said.RSS has
strongly advocated Army education and training at the school level. In fact, the
Bhonsala Military School, founded in 1937 by BS Moonje in Nasik, is run on a
similar model. Moonje was RSS founder KB Hedgewar’s mentor. Although RSS
leaders attend events at school, the organisation is not directly involved in
running it; that is done by Central Hindu Military Education Society. Construction,
which is spread over 20,000 square metre donated by former Army man and farmer
Rajpal Singh, began on August 24 last year. ET/TOI
Big setback for govt; Interpol again refuses to
issue Red Corner notice against Zakir Naik
New Delhi: In yet another setback for NDA govt,
Interpol has for the third time refused to issue a Red Corner Notice against Dr
Zakir Naik. The global police body cited lack of evidence and any proof of wrongdoing
as the reasons behind its decision to not issue the notice. Interpol has
further instructed all its offices to delete all data on Dr Naik from its
files. The decision was taken by Commission for Control of INTERPOL's Files in
its 109th session, which took place from July 1-5, 2019. In a letter dated July
22, Interpol said Naik is “not subject to an Interpol Red Notice or
diffusion”.In a letter addressed to Naik, Interpol’s Commission Secretariat
stated that “after a thorough examination of the elements before it, the
Commission found that data (read “charges”) challenged raised questions as to
compliance with applicable rules”. The statement implies that the charges and
allegations against Naik were unsubstantiated and vague, and Indian authorities
had failed to follow the due process of Interpol’s rules of charges and proof
submission. India had on June 12 formally requested Malaysia to extradite him,
who is wanted in India in many cases.TimesNow/DNA
Govt eyes non-NDA parties, walkouts to clinch
triple talaq bill in Rajya Sabha
New Delhi:Govt and the opposition are gearing up
for a fresh test of will and numbers in Rajya Sabha over the bill to make
triple talaq or instant divorce among Muslims punishable, with ruling side
banking on possible abstentions, walkouts and support of a few non-NDA, non-UPA
parties. Govt has been bolstered by its success in overcoming its
"hoodoo" in Rajya Sabha, where a lack of majority has allowed the
opposition to repeatedly stall legislation, with the passage of amendments to RTI
Bill last week with the help of parties like BJD, TRS and the YSRCP. But the challenge is steeper for the triple
talaq bill with NDA partner JD(U) not supporting the bill and other parties
likely to have reservations over a legislation that has drawn the ire of Muslim
clergy and political leaders. Govt managers feel that a walkout by JD(U), like
it did in Lok Sabha, will serve their purpose. Among parties that backed RTI
amendments, YSRCP has said its 2 MPs will vote against the bill. BJP floor
managers are looking at several scenarios, including walkouts or abstentions by
parties like AIADMK and TRS. The parties did not oppose the bill in Lok Sabha,
but their numbers were of little consequence. The support of BJD is more likely
and could well prove to be the tipping point. The numbers in the House,
however, are slowly tilting in favour of the Modi Govt aided by defections such
as 4 TDP MPs who recently joined BJP. Timesofindia
Karnataka:Yediyurappa wins trust vote, Speaker

Karnataka CM
BS Yediyurappa today won the trust vote in the Vidhana Soudha. Yediyurappa-led
BJP emerged victorious after the party managed to cross the majority mark in a
special Assembly session. On the occasion, BJP state chief urged all the
legislators to support him in hs work for the development. He said that he will
not break the trust of lawmakers. As the newly-elected CM moved a confidence
motion in assembly today, ex CM Siddaramaiah came down heavily on Yediyurappa
and his party. Congress leader hoped that Yediyurappa would be CM but cast
doubt on his future, saying there is no guarantee, referring to his past 3
terms as CM. Siddaramaiah said that since Yediyurappa is with rebel MLAs, he
cannot provide a stable Govt to the state. He said that BJP leader has never
been CM with people’s mandate. Opposing the confidence motion, he termed BJP Govt
as unconstitutional and immoral.NewsX

Muslim boy set on fire in UP's Chandauli for
refusing to chant 'jai shri ram'; Police dismiss the angle
A Muslim boy in Chandauli district of UP was
allegedly set on fire by 4 persons after he refused to chant ‘Jai Sri Ram’.The
police, however, after investigation, dismissed the theory, saying he actually
set himself on fire and concocted the story after being egged on by
“anti-social elements.”Boy suffered 45% burns, police said.The incident took
place under the Sayad Raja police station area.According to victim, identified
as 17-year-old Khalid Ansari, he had gone for a stroll to Dudhari bridge in the
early hours of Sunday when 4 persons, who had their faces covered,“kidnapped”
him and sprayed kerosene on him and set him ablaze.“2 of them caught hold of my
hands. They had their faces covered. One of them said ‘Sunil, spray kerosene on
him and light a match. He will die on his own,” boy said from his hospital bed
in Varanasi where he is admitted. Asked why he was attacked, he said:“They were
asking me to say ‘Jai Sri Ram’. I did not say it.”Chandauli SP Santosh Kumar
Singh said “anti-social elements” had tutored the youth and his mother to add
‘Jai Sri Ram’ chant part so that the issue gets more mileage. “It is a fake
story,” Singh said. According to Singh, his statements over the incident have
been inconsistent. The incident could have been done to falsely implicate
somebody as part of a planned conspiracy or out of superstition,he added.thehindu/IANS
Instead of calling mob-lynching a crime, RSS
chief Bhagwat calls it an attempt to ‘defame’ Hindus
Instead of reprimanding and criticising those
encouraging mob lynching, RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat chose to make it about
defaming Indian culture. Refusing to acknowledge that several of these
anti-social elements were part of the Sangh Parivar, Bhagwat said that some
anti-social elements were trying to spread hatred through mob lynching. And he
asked the members of Sangh Parivar to “be cautious”.“There is a deep conspiracy
of defaming Hindu religion and culture in the name of mob violence in the
country nowadays,” added Bhagwat, while inaugurating Akhil Bharatiya Samajik
Sadhbhav Samiti (All India Social Harmony Committee) at Vrindavan.Attempting to
divert the issue, Bhagwat said, “In some sections of the society, religious
conversions are being done according to a plan. In some places, hatred is being
spread in the name of mob lynching and in other cases, in the name of the
cow.”Bhagwat asked his audience to only ‘try to end the discrimination between
castes and sections in the society” and didn’t ask them to do it compulsorily.
“To protect the Hindu religion, people of different castes and sects worship
together and try to end the discrimination between castes and sections in the
society. When this happens, maybe problems will be solved at a social level,”
highlighted Bhagwat.nationalheraldindia

No harm if Muslims chant Jai Shri Ram: Assam BJP
leader
Guwahati: Amid reports of Muslims being harassed
and forced to chant Jai Shri Ram, BJP spokesperson and Assam Minorities
Development Board chairperson Syed Muminul Aowal on Sunday sought to downplay
the controversy, saying "there is no harm" if Muslims chant the
religious slogan. "Ram Chandra is the epitome of the ideal king. Ramrajya
is the ideal kingdom. There is no harm in Muslims chanting Jai Shri Ram. No one
should prevent a Muslim from chanting Jai Shri Ram," Aowal said at a BJP
minority morcha meeting here. The statement is on the same lines as the one
made by Union minority affairs minister Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi recently. "You
should not force anyone to do anything. But you can't refuse to sing Vande
Mataram. There should be no rigidity on either side," he had said. TOI
Namaz should not cause inconvenience to others:
AIMPLB member
Reacting to controversy over namaz on roads,
All-India Muslim Personal Law Board (AIMPLB) member Khalid Rasheed Farangi
Mahli on Sunday said prayers should not be offered by causing inconvenience to
anyone. “Namaz is a prayer before Allah. It is not right to offer the prayer by
causing inconvenience to anyone,” Farangi Mahli told PTI. However, he said
namaz on roads was not a daily affair and seen only on Friday. “In some
mosques, when there is no space left for people, they offer prayers on the road
on Friday. But if anyone has any objection to it, then namazis should make an
extra effort to reach the mosque in time for it,” he added. The general
secretary of AIMPLB, Maulana Wali Rehmani, however, said that it was not wrong
according to the shariat to offer namaz at an open place. He refused to
elaborate on it when told that roads were not open spaces. “Let people read
into what I have said,” he said, adding that it had become a habit of some
“saffron-clad people” to behave in an arbitrary manner against Muslims. In
Hathras, some Hindutva organisations had objected to namaz on roads and had organised
the recital of Hanuman Chalisa outside Hanuman temple in Sikandararau area and
had said it should be done every Tuesday. In Aligarh too, some right-wing
Hindutva organisations had decided to recite Hanuman Chailsa but the district
administration took prompt action and banned all religious acitivities on
roads.PTI

registered against 10 named persons, including BJP MLA, and 15-20 others,” a

Maharashtra sociology textbook includes
single-parent, same-sex families:HT
A few years ago if sociology students were asked
about what types of families existed in India, a textbook response was
guaranteed: two types, joint families and nuclear families. But this may soon be
changing. Maharashtra Govt has revised its Class 11 sociology textbook, which
now lists a number of families seen across the country now: single-parent
families, live-in relationships, families with same-sex parents, and those with
step parents. The textbook published by the state’s publishing bureau,
Balbharti, has been introduced from the current academic year (2019-20) as part
of the curriculum revision exercise for Class 11.The book talks about same-sex
marriages, gender equality and the blending of different cultural influences --
a phenomenon known as cultural hybridisation -- in the age of social media.“In
a historic verdict, the Supreme Court of India on Sept.6, 2018 decriminalised
Section 377 of IPC and allowed gay sex among consenting adults in private…,”
reads a line from the chapter.“The concept of cultural hybridisation is
explained with an illustration of a hijab-clad Barbie doll “These are the
images that children see all around them which interests them in knowing the
underlying concepts,” said Vaishali Diwakar, chairperson of the subject
committee that framed the new curriculum.

Synthetic milk powered meteoric rise of Chambal

Bhopal: 7 years ago, two brothers from a village

police. It’s not a magic wand that has changed the fortunes of Devendra Gurjar(42)
and Jaiveer Gurjar (40), who live in the village Dhakpura of Morena district,
some 465 km from Bhopal. Rather, it is their illegal business of manufacturing
synthetic milk and its by-products that are slow poison for consumers, an

Gurjar,a few other dairy owners in Chambal whose names appear in an FIR became
rich in just five-seven years by allegedly selling synthetic milk not only in MP

Newton was wrong: Scientists dismiss Newton's
theory of gravity and warn Einstein is next
More than 100 years after Albert Einstein
published his iconic theory of general relativity, it is beginning to show
signs of age. Now, following the most comprehensive test of general relativity
yet near the monstrous black hole at the centre of our galaxy, University of
California’s Professor Andrea Ghez has announced that Einstein’s theory of
general relativity holds up – for now. Professor Ghez said:”Einstein’s right,
at least for now. We can absolutely rule out Newton’s law of gravity.“Our
observations are consistent with Einstein’s theory of general relativity.“It
cannot fully explain gravity inside a black hole, and at some point we will
need to move beyond Einstein’s theory to a more comprehensive theory of gravity
that explains what a black hole is.” German-born theoretical physicist Einstein
is, alongside Max Plank, considered one of the two pillars of modern physics. His
1915 theory of general relativity holds that what we perceive as the force of gravity
arises from the curvature of space and time. The scientist proposed celestial
objects such as the Sun and the Earth change this geometry. Einstein’s theory
is the best description of how gravity works, said Professor Ghez, who has made
direct measurements of the phenomenon near a supermassive black hole – research
dubbed “extreme astrophysics.”The laws of physics, including gravity, should be
valid everywhere in the universe, said Ghez, who added that her research team
is one of only two groups in the world to watch a star known as S0-2 make a
complete orbit in three dimensions around the supermassive black hole at the
Milky Way’s centre. The full orbit takes 16 years, and the black hole’s mass is
about four million times that of the Sun.The researchers say their work is the
most detailed study ever conducted into the supermassive black hole and
Einstein’s theory of general relativity.express.co.uk
