New Delhi – 05 Oct. 2017: The President of
Jamaat-e-Islami Hind (JIH) Maulana Syed Jalaluddin Umari has condemned the
shooting at Las Vegas, USA. The JIH President mourned the death of 59 people in
the shooting and said: ‘’we condemn the cowardly shooting and stand with the
people of America in their hour of grief.’’
The Jamaat chief added: “We are alarmed at the rise of
cases of domestic terrorism and gun violence in America. There is no place in
our world for indiscriminate violence of this magnitude. Our prayers and
sympathies are with the victims of this cowardly attack. We hope the American
people will address the rising tide of this senseless gun violence with common
sense gun laws’’.
Maulana Umari said:"Islam lays great importance to the
sanctity of life and teaches love and compassion to fellow human beings. People
must reflect on the ill-effects of the contemporary atheist, materialistic
culture that glorifies violence and is insensitive to human suffering. It is
time for the world to return to Divine Guidance and follow the path shown by
God’s prophets that guarantees peace and prosperity both in this world and the
Hereafter”.
